Tim Ainslie Biog

Tim AinsliePlaying the guitar since a teenager, Tim Ainslie’s amazing ability led him to say goodbye to the day job when he turned professional in 1997.  Tim has now formed the exciting ‘Ainslie’s Vibes’, fronted by Tim on vocals and guitar performing a mix of original and standard compositions. Performing as many as 250 dates a year, Tim is a much respected musician and has created a reputation as one of the most exciting and versatile performers around.  Digital Blues listeners recently voted Tim Ainslie as ‘Best Guitarist’.

Since forming Steamboat, Steel Street and Swagger in the early days,  writing five albums, touring and performing with Groove Doctors & King Bizkit, Tim has also performed and led workshops with  Lightnin’ Willie,  Buddy Whittington (Ex John Mayall) & Gregg Wright (Ex Michael Jackson). A few years later time spent studying the guitar and music under Mick Hanson developed Tim into the truly great guitarist he is today, reaching new levels and finding more and more new sounds.   This is when Tim really came of age as a player, leading to performances at clubs, festivals and functions, across the UK and Europe….…Tim became the Guitarist that guitarists come to see! Tim then went on the ‘Groove Doctors’ USA tour and befriended and then toured with ‘Lightnin’ Willie’ on his UK 08 Tour and BBC Radio 2 session.

Tim has developed a unique style and sound, encompassing  jazz, blues, funk and crossing into rock and country which makes it difficult to pigeon hole Tim’s exceptional playing. Tim has always had a great love for writing and recording music as well as live performance.  Ainslie’s Vibes debut CD, ‘The People Have spoken’ received some great reviews and showcases Tim’s strong song writing, vocal and guitar skills.

Ainslie’s Vibes went on to record studio and live gig sessions with the BBC and having now revisited Roundel Studios in Kent, Ainslie’s Vibes all original new album entitled “Standing Ten Feet Tall and Raging Like a Bull” will be launched later in the year.
