Tim Ainslie and Buddy Whittington teaching guitarTim has become a prolific guitar teacher of all ages, levels and abilities, inspiring many students to pursue full-time musical careers.  Tim delivers one to one tuition and group workshops to all levels and ages, covering contemporary styles, rock, pop, blues, jazz, funk, song writing and arranging.    Tim is much sought after with his special ability to relate to specific students’ needs.

Tim has successfully guided dozens of students through formal Rockschool qualifications, both privately and at Parkside Pupil Referral Unit. It is through Parkside PRU, that Tim has led groups of students through jaw dropping performances at the International concert hall Snape Maltings and led workshops with Buddy Whittington (Ex John Mayall) and Gregg Wright (Ex Michael Jackson).

Tim also teaches at The Colchester Institute helping students through Further Education & Degree courses and always takes a keen interest in the students’ progress, in particular their live performances.

Tim co-founded and is a director of MUSICA, a specialist music workshop company which he runs with his lifelong friend and good colleague, George Fothergill.  Musica specializes in equal opportunity workshops for people with often very challenging additional needs and is devoted to creative learning.  Delivering a wide range of workshops, some of Musica’s recent clients include The Papworth Trust, ‘STARS’ at The Bridge School, Hillside Special School, Glastonbury, Latitude and Just So Festivals.  Musica aim to give someone the chance to learn something new and exciting and have the motto, ‘Music  for All’.
